A taunting of ravens to you, sir

Huh! Haven't updated this in months. Well, its 4.33 am, I'm supposed to be studying, so clearly...LJ time!
I've been reading my previous entries and they make me sound like I'm some kind of french-obsessed journalism-hating lesbian.I can't help it that french is, on most days, awesome (though, god, there are a few of retards in my class that make me want to kill myself. SHUT THE FUCK UP BLONDIE. NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU THINK. SHUT UP. And I'm still gobsmacked at the whole 'Yeh Australia is all sunshine lolipops and rainbows!' sentiment held by Toorak/Prahran/South Yarra contingent. Of course you've never been discriminted against you white upper class mongrels). And I can't help that Alanis is still amazing. I want to drown in her songs. They hit me deep, man (I am such a 90's wanker).
I've reconsidered the whole Journalism issue. I think I do want to be a journalist after all. For one thing, I've got the investigative journalism *coughstalkertendenciescough* down pat. Also, my International jrn tutor says I'd be pretty damn good at it. I'm not sure I believe her, but I think I'd be cheating myself if I didn't at least give it a shot. I really like the idea of being an international journalist actually. Sri Lanka, Afganistan, East Timor, here I come. Besides, my love of teaching is starting to wane. This is mostly due to my bloody, bloody students who drive me up the wall. For gods sake, I'm here to teach you, not write your damned essays for you. But I can always revert back to it if my grand plan of reporting international issues fails.
My birthday in three days. Twenty years old. Jeez I'm getting old. I wonder what the ciggarette laws are in France? Do I have to be twenty one to buy them? Can I smoke anywhere?
Sigh.
France, baby, come December, we're gunna get wild.

Don't ever, ever study English Theory and Critism. It is a stupid mind fuck that will radically alter your perception of the world, and not in a good way. Fucking Plato! Why is it we have to study the ideas of a man who's been dead for a few thousand years who talked in riddles? Bah! and Bah again!

It's a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I say
Send somebody so over the edge
That they'd write me a letter
Saying that I better
Shut up and sing or my life will be over....

I'm discovering a newfound love for the Dixie Chicks atm.

Also, the next time anyone hears me say something stupid like "I love French", I want you to hit me over the head with a baseball bat.

Stupid bloody french.

Thoughts

- I don't get romance. It's a bit over my head.

- I'm starting to have second thoughts about the point of life again. Like, I do all this volunteer crap, not for the betterment of mankind but for my resume, so I can get a good job, then stay in that job till I die. Whats the use?

- I keep messing my degree around like a dog with a stuffed toy. Shred, shred, god knows if it can be sown back together.

- Just changed my degree, and to top it off, just enrolled in an undergraduate diploma. I'm gunna be in uni till I'm ninety.

- Unless I get that job till death thing first.

- I NEED A PUCKING JOB.

- Apparently putting a 'P' in front of swear words turns them into nice words.

There was more but now I forget.

Fun Fun. Actually, to be perfectly honest, it is fun, because I’m in the beginner class and for once I’m the smart one! Tres awesome.

Its bloody hot here. I keep going on and on about it but it really is. I’m thirsty all the time. Yay for adequate hydration.

Met my host family a couple of nights ago. They’re nice and under different circumstances I think we could have been friends. There’s the mother, Donzillia who broke her leg before I got there and has been hobbling around without crutches despite the fact that she looks like a retard doing it (she does have crutches; I just don’t know why she doesn’t use them). Two daughters, Clara 19 and Audrey 18, and a son, Tibou. I think that’s how its spelt. I’ve been given his room, poor thing. It a nice room, lots of space and a bookshelf full of Asterix comics (I love Asterix) but the bed creaks horribly. Like, I can’t blink an eyelash without hearing a very loud “ SCCCCCCCCCCCCRRREEEEEEECHHHHHCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKK”. Yeh not fun for me, that.

Haven’t been bitten by a disease-riddled mosquito yet which is good.

Haven’t taken a lot of photos yet (relatively speaking) and what I have is mostly scenery. Its very beautiful here but it just doesn’t have the same effect in a photo.

Sigh.
Does anybody know any lyrics with the word seven, or five, or four, or three, or two, or one in it?

eg: 9 in the afternoon, your eyes are the size of the moon

8 easy steps, a course of a lifetime you'll never forget

...you get the idea.

Help! I need some serious advice.

Well, not very serious, but...

Ok: So I can't decide what english unit to take for next semester. Here are the options I've cut it down to:

- Textual Theories and Practice: an Introduction

- Introduction to fiction writing

The first one sounds really dry and agonizingly hard, and the assesment isn't exactly playtime, but it will really help my english skills.
The second one sounds so much easier, fun even, and the assesment is a peice of cake, but it has nil educational value.

Help?

Don't give away the goods too soon is what she might have told me

Marlene watches from the wall
her mocking smile says it all
as she records the rise and fall
of every solider passing.

That and a Bratz song (yes, as in the dolls) have been stuck in my head on repeat for two days. And i don't even like the Bratz.

It feels soooo goooood
Dancing on the air
It feels sooo gooooood
Nothing can compare
Cause the beat in our hearts
Is the beat of the charts
Like a spotlight, we're shining through
It feels soooo gooood...
Shining here in front of you.

Nice beat to it though.

I feel sick. Thats what I get for drinking a too-sweet hot choc on an empty stomach.
Does stomach have an 'e' at the end?
I'm supposed to be studying for my french exams on Thurs and Fri respectively but I feel too sick and heads full of cotton. Cotton, cotton.
I forgot that today is a public holiday and that STA Travel wouldn't be open now I have to wait an extra day to buy travel insurance. They're cheaper than the RACV, bloody RACV.
Zoh my god my head hurts so much.
I think I'm going to go lie down now.
Or possibly vomit.

And yes, they're in shock, they are panicked, you and your chronic, them and their drama...

I am furious. Monash admin - you FAIL. You know how long I've put off applying for a course transfer because I didn't have a copy of my ENTER papers? Fifteen dollars and many phone calls later, I get the damn paper only to be told that I DONT NEED ONE TO APPLY EVEN THOUGH IT CLEARLY STATES ON THE COURSE TRANSFER FORM THAT I DO. Damn it all to hell. If I don't get the tranfer because of insufficient whatever you call it, I will scream.

You devastate me, you know that? You absolutely devastate me.

I'm losing my marbles, honestly. At least that's what I think anyway. I can't tell. Isn't that a sign? I must be losing it if I can't tell I'm losing it, right? Does a tree falling in a forest make sound? If a man is standing in the forest and he says something and there is not a woman there to hear him, is he still wrong? Life's little mysteries. I blame the heat, the heat and the fact I'm being driven straight up crazy street. But I have Jewel and Alanis to keep me sane, kind of, so that's saying something. Or nothing. I really couldn't say at this point.

My purse has been stolen. Maybe not stolen, maybe I left it with someone, maybe I left it on the train, or maybe not, since I never took it out of my bag. Curse the fucking assehole that did it. Was it worth it? For ten dollars, was it worth it? My drivers liscence, my health care card, most importantly, my monash id, for ten dollars and an anz bankcard to an account with 18 cents in it?
Fucking rot in hell whoever did it. I hope you fucking burn.
I've had that purse since i was 14. My first ever purse, a gift from my mother. I'll never find a purse like it, what with all the new disgusting style purses out. My library cards, my medicare, my blood donar card. All fucking gone.
